Welcome to this edition of PT Explorers.

Have you heard about international e-waste day? 14th October every year is observed as international e-waste day. The day is a reminder to everyone of the important part that all of us has to play in the making circularity a reality for e-products. Correct education and awareness building among end customers is necessary to ensure that we buy the right products and to ensure the correct disposal and recycling. E-waste contains a mixture of precious materials and harmful substances, and it is important that these are collected, treated and recycled properly to reduce wastage as well as to minimize pollution and health hazards. E-waste today is one of the most complex waste streams, and the quantity being generated is going up every year.

While the corona virus pandemic led to a momentary dip in other forms of pollution, e-waste generation invariably went up with the world relying on more gadgets and technology to keep it connected. Technology is central to the human race today and the generation of e-waste is projected to rise.

Paws Trails encourages each of you to do your bit in tackling this menace. Everyone can start by ensuring that there are designated e-waste collection boxes in your society.

Being responsible in consuming natural resources is a key factor in ensuring the continuity of the human race on earth. Responsible consumption also reduces the generation of waste and reduces pollution. This can also result in reduction on ecologically damaging activities like mining.

Let us do our bit today…

Let us take the pledge for a greener future!
