Ashok Nair

Ashok is a passionate wildlife photographer who, in the last few years, has traveled across continents, often to
destinations off the beaten track. He has photographed jaguars in the Pantanal, Brazil, polar bears in the Arctic, and
closer to home, the red panda in the hills above Darjeeling and the leopards at Bera in Rajasthan.

These trips have broadened his horizons—beyond capturing a few good images to developing a keenness to understand the local people, their lives, and their relationship with nature.

His journeys have also revealed the serious risks many ecosystems face and, often, the inspiring stories of resilience and success that rarely get heard.

He believes that many of us are increasingly disconnected from nature and cultures beyond our immediate environment and sees an opportunity, perhaps even a need, to rebuild this connection.

His talks focus on lesser-known aspects of wildlife behavior, conservation efforts, challenges, successes, and the invaluable lessons photography has taught him as a hobby
