Arnaud Desbiez

Arnaud Desbiez is a conservation biologist and the founder of the Giant Armadillo Conservation Program. Although Arnaud is French he has spent very little time in his native country and has worked in countries as diverse as Belize, Argentina, Bolivia, Nepal and has been living and conducting research in the Brazilian Pantanal since 2002.

He is the president of a small Brazilian NGO called ICAS (Institute for the Conservation of Wild Animals), Conservation partner for the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, Lecturer for the Escola Superior de Conservação Ambiental e Sustentabilidade (ESCAS-IPÊ) and adjunct professor at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS). Arnaud has a Ph.D in Biodiversity Management from the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE), University of Kent, UK.
